Food Donation to Cancer Patients
COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to do things differently. At Saint Lucia Cancer Society,
we have had to adapt to no physical contact with our members or the general public, as well as
our interactions at health fairs.
We have realized that what our “giving” looks like would have to take a different form, and we
decided to assist with food donations to two groups of vulnerable persons who we are strongly
connected to: Our patients with cancer, and our youngest target group – our children.
In May, we prepared 10 wholesome packages with healthy foods – vegetables, fruits, ground
provisions – and delivered them to our patients in need. It was truly fulfilling and left each of us
wanting to do even more.
